From 20st to 23rd of February The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites its audience to the First International Festival MusicAeterna, one of the large-scale projects the 65th anniversary season of the theatre. The festival program includes concerts with participation of stars of baroque opera Simone Kermes, Deborah York, Arnaud Richard, Markus Brutscher, Stephanie Hootzeel and Oleg Ryabets. A unique concert is waiting for fans for the cycle "Music for Us": pianist and composer Anton Batagov , who was called "one of the most significant and unusual figures in contemporary Russian music" will perform in the foyer of the theatre with a solo program. His interpretation of "The Art of Fugue" by Bach, was named the "most shocking since Gould." On February 21 he will present to the Novosibirsk audience Partitas by J.S. Bach.
Of course, the main heros of the festival will be the teams of the Theatre:
chamber orchestra MusicaAeterna and chamber choir New Siberian Singers, who
celebrates its first anniversary in this season - they were created on the basis
of the theatre on the initiative of the Chief Conductor Teodor Currentzis 5
years ago.
